This is an interview with Brian Salt from the Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre in south-western Ontario. Brian started Salthaven in the 1990s, and it has grown to the point where his team takes care of 2000 wild animals in need of help. This is an eye-opening talk about taking care of wild animals, what threatens them (you’d be surprised), and how Salthaven cares for and eventually releases them back into the wild.
Salthaven is in need of certain products on an ongoing basis, so if you can donate, please do so. They actually list those items that are most urgent at the bottom of their donations page here … https://www.salthaven.org/make-a-dona… Salthaven loves volunteers. Volunteer applications can be found on their website and are accepted beginning January each year for ages 16 with parents’ consent, otherwise age 18 and over. They are also looking for skilled tradespeople, most notably carpenters. See here … https://www.salthaven.org/opportunities Many of the items they need are also listed on their Amazon “Wish List” here … https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/… To learn (even) more about Salthaven, they have a YouTube channel here … https://www.youtube.com/user/salthave… Here is Salthaven’s main website page … https://www.salthaven.org/ Salthaven is very interested in educating the public about wild animals and their sanctuary.
